Frequently Asked Questions

What is Qaya?

Qaya turns structured data from Google Sheets, CSV files, and other sources into searchable, filterable interfaces. No backend, no accounts, no ads.

How do I compare items?

Click the compare icon on any item card to add it to your compare list. When you have 2 or more items, click "Compare" to see them side-by-side.

Where is my data stored?

All preferences, favorites, and compare lists are stored in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server.

Can I use Qaya for my own data?

Yes. Qaya is designed to work with any structured data. Documentation for dataset maintainers is coming soon.

How often is the data updated?

Datasets are updated whenever the underlying spreadsheet or source data changes and the site is rebuilt. Each dataset may have its own update cadence depending on the maintainer.

Can I share my filtered results?

Yes. Filters and search terms are reflected in the page URL. You can copy and share the link to preserve your current view, including active filters and sort order.

Why do I see different units or currencies?

You can switch between metric/imperial units and supported currencies in the preferences menu. Your choice is saved in your browser and applies across datasets where relevant.
