We've added a new way to explore the onebag community's opinions: the Reddit Mentions dataset.

What's New

The Mentions page shows Reddit posts where specific bags were discussed. Each mention includes:

  • Sentiment – Positive, neutral, or negative based on the discussion
  • Bag details – Price, volume, and a direct link to the bag's page
  • Reddit link – Jump straight to the original discussion

When you switch currencies on the bag finder, the same preference now applies to mentions. See prices in USD, EUR, or GBP across the entire site.

How It Works

Behind the scenes, mentions are enriched with data from the bags dataset. When we detect a bag name in a Reddit post, we pull in the bag's current price, volume, and image. This keeps everything in sync-if a bag's price updates, mentions reflect that automatically.

The currency conversion happens once during the build. We compute EUR and GBP prices from USD using current exchange rates, then store all three. When you toggle currencies, we're just showing pre-computed values rather than calculating on the fly.

Column Reset

If you've customized which columns appear on cards, you might notice they reset to defaults. This happens when we add new columns-we bump a version number that triggers a refresh so you see the new options. Your favorites, compare list, and other preferences are preserved.

What's Next

We're exploring additional enrichment options-airline compliance summaries on mentions, trending bags over time, and cross-referencing with r/HerOneBag discussions.
